Irit Baniel’s artistic path has been shaped by a multidisciplinary career spanning design, creative direction, and fine art. After years of working in the fashion and beauty industries, she established her design agency, Irit Baniel Studio, in 2017, where she served as Creative Director, developing creative work for leading fashion and beauty brands. Alongside her professional design career, Baniel maintained an ongoing commitment to painting and studio practice.
In 2025, Baniel received her Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the New York Studio School. Since graduating, her work has been presented in numerous group exhibitions, including at Bowery Gallery in Chelsea, Dumbo Residence Project, and Moshava Art Gallery in New York, as well as in two-person exhibitions at the New York Studio School and Medium Rare Project Space.Her work has been reviewed and featured in Art Spiel and AMNY.In 2025, Baniel co-founded Medium Rare Project Space in DUMBO, Brooklyn, an independent artist-run space dedicated to presenting contemporary painting and fostering dialogue among emerging and established artists. She has since curated and organized numerous exhibitions and projects through the space. Baniel lives and works in Brooklyn, with her studio located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
